How much can you lend? What documents do we need to open your account? Who can lend on the platform? When will you receive your repayments?….We’ve covered every question you can think of (and some more)!

What is Fundkiss?

Fundkiss is a digital lending platform. We allow SMEs to borrow directly from individual and institutional investors, while creating impactful investment opportunities.

We allow existing businesses with at least two years of operations to borrow directly from our lender community in the form of unsecured business loans. In return, our lenders get access to a new asset class and earn returns in the form of interests.

How is Fundkiss regulated?

Fundkiss operates under a Peer-to-Peer Lending license issued by the Financial Services Commission of Mauritius.

Why should I invest with Fundkiss?

• Fully online digital investment experience. All you need is a smartphone!

• Start as low as MUR 5,000

• Choose the SMEs you wish to lend to

• Interest income taxed at only 3%

• Have an impact on the local economy

• No fees

Who can invest?

Individual and institutional investors can lend directly to SMEs on our platform. You decide which project you wish to lend to.

An individual investor can invest between MUR 5,000 to MUR 100,000 per project. An individual investor can lend up to a total of MUR 1,500,000 per year on the platform.

An institutional investor can invest between MUR 5,000 to MUR 1,000,000 per project. An institutional investor can lend up to MUR 3,000,000 per year on the platform.

How can I start lending?

To begin lending, create an account as a lender on fundkiss.mu and submit the following verification documents to your profile:

  •  A copy of your ID (National Identity Card or Passport)
  •  Proof of address (less than 3 months old)
  •  The header of your bank statement showing your bank account number

You will receive an email with document submission prompts once you create your account.

Once these documents are uploaded, your account will be verified within 24 hours and you can begin lending!

How will I receive my repayments?

Once the borrowing business receives the disbursement after campaign completion, they start paying you monthly repayments inclusive of the capital and interest components. The monthly repayments continue throughout the terms of the loan.

Your monthly repayments are directly credited into your Fundkiss Account. You may choose to re-invest your repayments to other projects or withdraw them to your bank account at any time from your Fundkiss profile.

How and why should I diversify my investments?

Investing through the Fundkiss platform involves financing Small and Medium Enterprises in the form of unsecured business loans. As a lender, you could lose part or all of your investment due to non-performing loans.

We advise all investors on our platform to spread their investments over several projects to limit risks.

For instance, investing MUR 5,000 across 20 projects would be safer than investing MUR 100,000 in a single project.

This way, if a loan does go into default, the impact on your overall portfolio is contained.

What happens if a project does not reach its goal during the campaign?

In such an unlikely event, the project is considered unsuccessful and made unavailable on the platform. The lenders on the project are refunded.

This is an extremely rare occurrence.

What happens in the case of non-performing loans?

Lending to SMEs poses a risk of capital loss due to non - performing loans and their delays and defaults.

Fundkiss manages the process of debt collection and default management for the lenders. We work with a partner for legal recovery.

At the end of each financial year, you will receive a tax certificate from Fundkiss that will summarise your total earnings from the platform, you would use the tax certificate to file your returns. It is the responsibility of the investors to declare their income earned from lending on fundkiss.mu.

What fees do I pay as a lender?
